Mark Ophus Promoted to Associate Principal & Studio Director at SMA Architecture + Design

SMA leadership recently appointed Mark Ophus an Associate Principal and Studio Director for his continual contributions and knowledge he brings to our team. With 17 years of overall architectural experience and currently on his 7th year at SMA, Ophus has served as an Associate, Project Manager, and Architect, leading many of SMA’s recent prominent projects including Shodair Children’s Hospital, University of Montana’s New Dining Hall, East Helena High School, and Central Elementary School.

Ophus is based out of the Helena office and plays a supporting role in the firm’s Bozeman office. He is critical to the ongoing success of SMA, and ensures our systems, technologies, processes, and office management is scalable, innovative, and efficient. Ophus supports firm partners, business and production operations, and sees to it that project teams are setup for our clients’ success. He also leads in efforts to streamline firm processes, project management, and staff development. Ophus is an instrumental leader to SMA’s growth and success.
