Principal + Director - Helena
Living and raising a family in Montana is truly a blessing. Having been raised in Montana, I have a deep appreciation of the opportunities that this wonderful state offers a family. My lovely wife and I enjoy spending time in the outdoors with our two sons hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, camping and fly-fishing, all while trying to manage a 100-pound Labrador. In addition to spending time outdoors as a family, my wife and I enjoyed supporting our children in their other pursuits including academics, music, art, sports, entrepreneurship and church activities. Through volunteering, coaching and being involved where we can, we have developed life-long friendships.
Working in the field of architecture has given me the opportunity to give back to the communities that mean so much to my family. After receiving my Master of Architecture degree from MSU, my 22-year career has been focused on public, community-centered projects for K-12 education, higher education, municipal, and non-profit clients. It gives me great pride to see the buildings I have had a part of designing make a difference in the place I call home.
Since joining the talented and energetic team here at SMA, I have had the privilege working alongside my colleagues, our consultants and clients on a number of inspiring projects including the Montana State University Yellowstone Hall, Helena School District’s Central School, East Helena High School, Butte East Middle School and the new Dining Facility and Knowles Hall Renovation projects at the University of Montana. In my role as Principal and SMA’s Helena Office Director, I take great pride leading our clients through the design process and helping them realize their dreams for a new building.
