HCSC Blue Cross Blue Shield Building
MSU New Residence Hall
Currently under construction, the new four hundred bed residence hall at Montana State University - Bozeman is taking shape. The building will house freshman students living in ten 40-resident “communities” on the west side of campus near Roskie Hall and the Hedges Complex. Another SMA project, Gallatin Hall, can be seen in the upper right hand corner of this image. The new residence hall has been designed to provide students with a number of different public and private living areas throughout the building. Both active and quiet lounges are located in each community, while the entire building shares a large living room/recreation area as well as kitchen and laundry on the first floor.
SMA Architects is currently working with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Health Care Service Corporation on the new Montana headquarters in Helena. The project, a GCCM contract, also has Dick Anderson Construction on board. Programmatically, the project consists of large open office spaces, corporate areas, work out facilities, collaborative work spaces, and cafe / break area. Careful consideration of views, energy use, solar gain, and prevailing winds contributed to the exterior design of the building. The headquarters also references Montana’s environment and culture with native finishes, colors, and form.
Montana Implants and Perio’s new 3,800 square feet surgical suite will be constructed this fall and more than double their treatment capacity from their current office. The new building will comprise of eight treatment rooms in a welcoming and calming atmosphere to provide periodontal, dental implant, and other dental services for the Helena area.
